@egofree etymonline.com is a website that gives the origins/history of word meanings. Ethiopia ie used to be called Abyssinia. I think but I’m not sure that etymology is part of Historical Linguistics.

Not yet. Should be here by tomorrow. I also ordered a book about Arabic Morphology. I don’t know how to explain what that is.
