For better or worse, our world has no ideology

Hello my friends.
Our world has no ideology.
Religion is getting weaker and weaker, and society is becoming less and less conservative.
In the past humans were supposed to play by certain rules,
but these rules are gradually getting washed away.
What is increasingly coming to the fore is that people are doing whatever they want,
and they are doing it openly.
I am just stating this as an observer, this is what I see when I watch society.

Erez, you are dear to my heart.

The world is just that though, the world.

It is a physical and scientific entity unto it’s own.

Ideologies are just manufactured by us, humans.

But of course we all cling to the teams we like.

And that is OK.

Take care. :v:

@Chess24 and @Montezuma I don’t know if I’m psychotic or what but for some reason I love both of you right now.

There aren’t many ideologies that I like. I think we will be redeemed, if we are redeemed, in spite of what we believe, rather than because of it. Every ideology becomes corrupt. They’re fine for a little while, but then they grow stale and tiresome. Humanity is only too corruptible, and the system of checks and balances is the only thing that can protect us from the evils of human nature. I’m a skeptic. Nothing is certain, not even that.

That’s certainlu true, for the western world that is.

Bad things have always happened, bad things will continue to happen in the future. A lot of people say the world is getting worse morally, and this may be true, however it is getting better in a lot of ways.

A lot of terrible acts have been committed in the name of religion and by “religious” people. The opposite is true as well.

In my opinion conservatism is not going to last much longer, as people become more educated and aware of the world we live in. Religion doesn’t entirely stop people from bad things, knowledge of what’s helpful and good for yourself and others does.

The world is just changing, and it always will.

Religion seems to always be fighting a losing battle against something. If you want to be religious you have to accept adversarial relationships between things. Good and evil, believers and disbelievers, god(s) and the devil and his demons. It’s an easy way to think, look at human history, how much war and persecution has gone on in the name of religion. Or the idea of us versus them. So its a simple way to think and it often feels natural. But I personally don’t believe in these kinds of conflicts of ideas controlling me. As a mentally ill person I don’t like to be a conflicted person.

And yet much of the world is experiencing some of the most peaceful/least violent times in human history.

For the most part the least religious countries are the ones with the best quality of life, with some obvious exceptions. And those exceptions, like North Korea very much has a strong shared ‘ideology’

In general I can’t feel any nostalgia looking back at the days of religious conservatism

Don’t worry, humans can’t live without ideologies.

And that is simply another ideology my friend. With its rules.
