I support Liverpool since I was a kid. I love my team.
I started watching football since I was a kid and used to hear a lot about Gerrard. Since then I became a fan of Liverpool. Its been hard for us but we keep going… gotta win the league some day.
I picked Chelsea as a team to support when I was a child when we came back from living in Thailand. There was no reasoning or logic to my choice. Until I got ill I would follow Chelsea quite religiously. Then it slipped from my mind. A good number of years later I met my wife and she was an Arsenal supporter and I got to like them too. Now if I want any team to do well it’s Arsenal.
If I chose teams based on where my parents came from it would be Aberdeen where my mum was from and Birmingham city the team my paternal granddad supported. I do hope those teams do well.
I saw highlights of the match. Arsenal are going through a tricky patch. They have some good players but psychologically,in terms of having a winning mindset, something is missing. I would be surprised if Wenger is still manager next season. He seems to have deteriorated as a manager. Liverpool are doing quite well and Klopp is obviously a top manager.
Unfortunately the shape of the league table is increasingly shaped by the financial clout of the teams. Man city were always a second rate team until they got a sugar daddy. In terms of results so were Chelsea. Man utd seem to have the financial power to buy good players despite dips in form due to their massive fanbase and marketing empire.
It’s basically the same teams forming the top 6-7 year after year.
Scotland is even more of a one horse race since Rangers had their troubles. The truth is if Celtic were allowed to join the English premier league they’d be relegation candidates . Yet they win by a country mile in Scotland.
I agree the financial gap between teams in the EPL is making it really hard for others to compete but that’s the case in every league in Europe. They should keep play offs or something then it may work better.
Agree completely it’s not just England. I do wonder how someone like Guardiola would do if they were managing a team like Huddersfield and not one with the financial clout to buy the best players.
That’s right … I think they’d fail miserably. But hey for all we can think of Ranieri won it with Leicester. That’s surely a one off but still. I think this has to be the greatest achievement in football and also Atletico Madrid in 2014.
I have always liked Rangers but they have had troubles, they are doing ok Though i think now but Celtic are still dominant
Rangers bet Hearts 2-0 recently which i thought was pretty cool
just checked the standings and they are doing pretty good, they are 2nd in the league by only 6 points so we need celtic to lose a couple of matches haha
I have two new teams Nashville and Cincinnati FC. When it comes to soccer I have to say I am a fan of minor leagues. the problem with rooting for smaller markets is the teams rarely have winning seasons. With the lack of wins some fans will call for more spending on players, a big scam.
anyways the model where I’m from is to acquire as many young talented players as you can and see them on their way to bigger clubs as they develop. I hate the idea of spending big for soccer icons so Cincinnati and Nashville are good teams for me, they will operate with budgets and get rid of players before they get too expensive.
