All I can say is memorize your local police number!
When I was robbed at gunpoint at the shop I worked in, after the guys ran out I went to call the police and was so upset that I didn’t think to call 911 and dialed (yes on the rotary landline) the local number. I told the dispatcher I wanted to report a robbery, and she said you mean a burglary don’t you? No, I mean a 2-11 (strong arm robbery) just occurred.
The police were there in less than 2 minutes…and couldn’t understand why I didn’t call 911. The stress made me shut down to the point I could barely talk.
