First day for iop

Since last year I have been struggling with meeting the court orders. It took a year for me to just go in for a drug/ alcohol evaluation. Eventually I did the evaluation but failed to go to orientation. After numerous of rescheduled dates I finally made it to orientation(after having to go through central intake again).
Once upon a time I made it to orientation but…failed to start treatment. I went through central intake for the evaluation three times. Each time I was reviewed by a different counselor. I went through orientation twice(you would imagine March madness). So yesterday I finally started. Officially my first day with iop.

Woah a new record. I haven’t made it this far since never. So I’ll be going through this iop for 6-8 weeks and then basic for another 8 weeks…totaling in 41 times I’ll have to go and about 99 hours…this is craycray

Good on you for finally doing it
It takes time, but you can do it.

How’d it go? Anything useful?

It’s been a pretty good while since I have drank, too, but that’s because both of the only two stores in town that sold beer went out of business. I know I have to be sober if I ever want to move out of assisted living. I know I’ll mess up if I don’t.

It seems like drugs and alcohol have to hurt you pretty badly to make you want to get clean. Some people have higher thresholds of pain than others. They can lose everything, and still not be hurt badly enough to quit.
