I’m fighting off these feelings of impending doom but its wearing me down,
Yes constant feeling of this impending doom.
It’s hard not to have these feelings especially if you come across the news. I make an effort not to follow the news. Except headlines at most. Still have to vote also.
It’s got to affect normal people too.
its cold and dark and windy outside and I am alone fighting off some upsetting thoughts.
@daydreamer can you watch streaming, tv or a movie? What about a hobby? Try to distract yourself. It’ll be ok.
I agree - distract yourself - i find the forum the safest place to engage in simple thread topics and conversations. Even just reading only the positive topics in the lounge and not getting into DX stuff.
Sorry you are feeling this. Do you have a PRN that can help?
I’m listening to music its helping a bit but no prn
I get that too. So familiar. I dont know what to do about it. For me, I always have an episode within two days of the doom. It’s one of my biggest warning signs, and I know to be extra careful in the next little while before it hits.
Hope you can distract yourself well and it doesn’t escalate. Im sorry you’re going through this.
I’m in a bad mood, I kinda wish “doom” would happen.
I had feelings of impending doom earlier today. I hate when I get them. Been getting them since 2011. Got schizophrenia in 2013. I tried watching football earlier today but my mind kept focusing on thoughts of doom and gloom.
That’s terrible. But it’s good you’re aware of your triggers so you can avoid them. I hope the triggers become less and less troubling as time goes on
I understand what you describe. I get this too. It can be so awful. I hope you are feeling a bit better since you were listening to some music. That’s a good idea.
I get messages from various sources (like my book or the TV or the cars driving by) about doom and gloom. It is hard to deal with. It’s very heavy to live with.
Try to find something to distract your attention, maybe a dvd or a book. Maybe there is something good on tv. Getting on this site is sure to help.
I get this feeling for no good reason. It started after I tried THC for the first and only time and started having panic attacks. The panic attacks cooled down eventually but the feeling remained. My pdoc says it’s psychosis but they think everything is psychosis so who knows. I can’t really tell if it’s a med side effect or not.
i managed to focus on something else and the music really helped, I was playing a new guy called 1991 and it was all very upbeat, I thought I’d look up some info on my countries mental health strategy and it totally helped divert my attention as well.
slept well but I’m still harbouring these dark thoughts but I’m keeping them in check as much as i can, it can get overwhelming sometimes though.
Hmmm,
If you like the midget from Game of Thrones, as well as the old video game called Doom, it would not surprise me if you sometimes thought of an Imp-ending Doom.
It is now offensive to call little people midgets. They like to be called little persons now.
I have an AA friend of short stature who says, “little persons is too many damn syllables. Just call me Shorty.”
