Feeling paranoid at work

I am writing this on my phone at work which is a bit wrong. But I am feeling really paranoid today.

I just overheard a conversation between colleagues about dental pain and codeine. I think the media have been broadcasting my recent misadventures to my colleagues.

Also whe. I walked in from my lumch break two other colleagues broke off their whispered conversation really swiftly. I think they were talking about me.

Sorry for any spelling or punctuation errors, i am typing this from my phone. Thanks for reading.

The Media has not been broadcasting your recent dental and codeine adventures. I assure you that.

I’m sorry you’re having a rough day, but @Patrick is right. You’re probably just feeling self-conscious because of all the stress you’ve been under with trying to get clean.

I am reading your post during my work and replying your post at work break. I think it is a release stress method.

On a side note, I’m on here more when I’m at work than any other time. Is that wrong? I’ve gotta do something on the slow days lol

Hey turtle  Are you better now?

You’re probably going through withdrawals and the stress of getting off the codeine is getting to you, it’s just a coincidence they’re talking about it. Don’t worry.

Sounds to me like your symptoms are messing with you. Sending hugs and best wishes from Western Canada. Hope you’re able to overcome the paranoia and get some relief.

Thank you @Minnii and @shutterbug I got through it, and stayed at work. I kept telling myself ā€œit’s not about me, it’s not about meā€¦ā€

The media aren’t broadcasting your situation to your colleagues. It was probably just a coincidence.

Someone I knew started talking about codeine to me. They said someone at work was hooked on it. Sometimes coincidences are the things that make us paranoid. But I didn’t think ā€˜oh gosh they must be aware of turtle’, it was just a Spooky coincidence. Coincidences hurt sometimes.

This is true, thank you @everhopeful I have to try to be less sensitive.

Thanks @Mouseymoo, today will be a better day.

I think they stopped talking about it because it’s a sensitive subject, not because of you. They’re not sure everyone wants to hear it so they became quiet when you came by.

Yes I feel a bit selfish and foolish immediately assuming it must have been about me. I need to learn to let things go. Thanks @turningthepage

You really have no idea for sure if they were talking about you or someone else.

I sympathize though. Coincidentally, today at work my two bosses were sitting down watching me work and occasionally they would start whispering. I thought they were whispering about me but I don’t really know for sure. They could have been whispering about my co-workers for all I know or they could have been whispering about something having to do with the business of being a boss. I really can’t say for sure and neither can you.

Relax love  feel proud of your accomplishment of staying clean. If it gets too bad remind yourself that you love and accept your experiences, learned from them and are trying to stay clean. You want a different life and you’re doing fine even if others or your paranoia believe otherwise. Calm your paranoia with love and the coincidence will fade away and you have earned another triumph! Take small steps and celebrate every triumph, even the ones we can not see in your shoes or can not be explained.

I’m proud of you. :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

I suffer with paranoia often and I just wanted to pass a little bit of my experience and I hope it helps some if any.

Hang in there @anon84763962 - You are trying to get clean, it might be making you symptomatic.

Its going to take some time - you will manage, I am sure.

I get paranoid a lot - keep telling yourself that everything will be just fine.

One step at a time.
