So I have two tests, one on Monday and one on Wednesday and I am getting overwhelmed feeling. I think you should all be grateful that you arent all full-time students. I can’t make a C or I lose my scholarship. I am in hell right now, this medical ethics class is way over my head and I can’t juggle so much crap at once, with four classes and three of them being reading intensive. I feel like I shouldn’t socialize and should study instead, as staying out late just makes me sleep in later and take longer to wake up.
If I wasn’t on medication and sleeping so much, it wouldnt be an issue. I did very well without medication, I was more alert and woke up earlier.
It sounds like your really feeling the pressure. Maybe you can fire up the coffee maker and pull an all nighter or two. I would be careful about going off my med’s.
You would also be symptomatic, so there’s that to consider…
I know what it’s like being a full-time student and on meds. It’s very hard, overwhelming, draining… My classes are very reading intensive, so I made sure in the very beginning of the semester to get a head start. That way, when I get tired or worn out, I can slide a little without it being a big issue.
You’ve told me this before and I think it’s your solution right now: caffeine.
Drink a lot of caffeine and don’t socialize as much as you may like to, take the time you would normally spend with friends to study. I know it isn’t any fun, but sometimes we have to make sacrifices for our education. Remember, we are only in school for a short number of years. Our lives won’t be so academia-revolved forever.
We all have to identify what are procrastination vices are. Your ahead of the game, because you know you socialize instead of studying.
I play on the internet and watch tv that isn’t very interesting, like sports. This weekend is going by in slow motion, maybe it’s because I am sick. Not being able to breathe through my nose at night and having a fever is taking its toll. I just have to close this tab and open my articles tab for class.
Tell your parents what you have to do. My dad encourages me to do homework when I don’t feel like it. Having someone in your corner who you are kind of accountable to will help.
To start reading, I’ll go first …5…4…3…2…1… Nope, I’m still here.
Seriously, I’m going to read for my assignment. Just do it, like the Nike add.
