Feeling better when I come off my injection every month ? Is this a normal reaction

Every time my injection begins to cease off (abilify) I begin to feel better. I dont feel as jittery or have an impulse to buy things. Also my memory gets better and I dont feel angry that I’m forgetting things I can sleep better and I can actually relax. I’m beginning to think I dont need this medication due to this as the jittery ness is making me depressed. I have my next one on Monday and am dreading it. I dont want to go but Ive already agreed to it due to not being able to see the psychiatrist and my nurse wants me to go. What will happen if I dont go. ? I dont believe I have a community order to go. I am on injection due to non compliance and forgetting to take my medication. Will the police come to my house if I dont go that is what I have heard could happen. Someone told me this but it wasnt my nurse or psychiatrist.

You might ask about Geodon. I’ve been on it for years, and it handles my symptoms with minimal side effects. A lot of people like Geodon a lot.

Thanks I’ll have a look at that one but I dont think it’s in my country at the moment

It should be. It has been around a long time.

Thats normal, its called the honeymoon period. I also experienced it when stopping meds. But after sometime, maybe a few days or maybe a few weeks, you’ll start to have psychosis. You feel good bcz of the dopamine rush that occurs after lvl of meds in the blood decrease. Dopamine makes us feel good. Street drugs also boost dopamine to cause euphoria which causes addiction. I think thats why its hard to get back on meds once you experienced the euphoria while being off meds.
