Fed up with my weight

I went to the gym yesterday first time in 6 months. I did pretty well, but it made me realize how hard it is to stay consistent in the gym. My body weight is out of control.

So I decided to fix my diet. I’m trying to aim for 1500 calories a day, no liquid calories, less carbs, no junk food. Maybe try to walk more as well.

Anyone else trying to get in shape for the new year?

I’m always trying, but because of my heart I’m not currently allowed to do much. I want to lose 15 lbs by July.

My weight is not that bad, but I could use 10 less pounds

I am. I’m doing a VLCD supervised by a dr. I was doing ballet but I think I’m just going to start using weights, etc

After I get shoulder surgery in feb or march I’m gonna get back to the gym. I’m 5 feet 8 and 103kg which makes me obese. The meds aren’t making weight loss any easier either.

At 1500 calories per day you will be starving yourself. This is not a long term plan for weight loss.

If your serious about losing weight talk to a nutritionist or a dietician. Or if your not serious about it stick to your 1500 calorie per day diet. Your body will give it up in no time.

I have some of this made out of leftovers from Christmas

I am thinking of living off it for a few months to lose some weight

Mine will just be vegetables though with a small amount of cheese on top

I’ve gained 30lbs on APs. My psychiatrist recommended the keto diet. I need to research it and then I will try that and working out again in the new year.

We’re in the same boat. I went for a walk on X-mas day to get away from in-laws. Made it five blocks before I had to call for a rescue from my kid.

How was your pacemaker surgery? My neurocardiologist has suggested it as an option, but I’m not sure if I want to risk it.

I’ll let you know when I eventually have it.

There’s very little risk. You barely notice them when they’re working and scenarios like mine where they aren’t are uncommon. I think I’m just something of a sh!t magnet in this department.

I love food but don’t like being fat.

I am on the same boat as you. I started drinking meal replacement shakes and incorporate exercise and walks. Don’t overwhelm myself, because I learned consistency is better than quality.

just sleeping overnight, you’ll burn it all.

I’m at 88,5 kilos, would like to weigh around 80.
I’ve set my calories to 1700 a day. Started the gym again. Been some years since last time.

Are good high fats like pork? I have a whole pig in my deep freeze .

Lol animal fats, especially from red meat is considered unhealthy. It’s saturated fat.

I’m going to the gym like every other day and changing my diet to two healthy smoothies and one meal a day.

I have that last 5 pounds to lose which is the hardest. I’m doing all the right things: counting my calories and keeping my calories low: (1200 kcal./day). Exercising every day (yoga). Meditating every day. Usually getting enough sleep. Not drinking my calories. Staying away from all soda pop. Drinking lots of water and also plain, black coffee. Avoiding alcohol. Burning more calories by practicing piano every day. Weighing myself and recording my weight every week.
