I went to the gym yesterday first time in 6 months. I did pretty well, but it made me realize how hard it is to stay consistent in the gym. My body weight is out of control.
So I decided to fix my diet. I’m trying to aim for 1500 calories a day, no liquid calories, less carbs, no junk food. Maybe try to walk more as well.
Anyone else trying to get in shape for the new year?
After I get shoulder surgery in feb or march I’m gonna get back to the gym. I’m 5 feet 8 and 103kg which makes me obese. The meds aren’t making weight loss any easier either.
At 1500 calories per day you will be starving yourself. This is not a long term plan for weight loss.
If your serious about losing weight talk to a nutritionist or a dietician. Or if your not serious about it stick to your 1500 calorie per day diet. Your body will give it up in no time.
I’ve gained 30lbs on APs. My psychiatrist recommended the keto diet. I need to research it and then I will try that and working out again in the new year.
There’s very little risk. You barely notice them when they’re working and scenarios like mine where they aren’t are uncommon. I think I’m just something of a sh!t magnet in this department.
I am on the same boat as you. I started drinking meal replacement shakes and incorporate exercise and walks. Don’t overwhelm myself, because I learned consistency is better than quality.
I have that last 5 pounds to lose which is the hardest. I’m doing all the right things: counting my calories and keeping my calories low: (1200 kcal./day). Exercising every day (yoga). Meditating every day. Usually getting enough sleep. Not drinking my calories. Staying away from all soda pop. Drinking lots of water and also plain, black coffee. Avoiding alcohol. Burning more calories by practicing piano every day. Weighing myself and recording my weight every week.
