He who learns must suffer.
And even in our sleep pain that cannot forget
falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will,
comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God.

That’s beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

A man will be imprisoned in a room with a door that’s unlocked and opens inwards; as long as it does not occur to him to pull rather than push.

Every viewpoint is a view from a point.

That which is to be received must be received according to the mode of the recipient.

Basically, talk to people on their level or else they will never understand you. I find it ironically worded.

That reminds me of my PE teacher in school, who stumped us all with this one:

What’s a good throw? One that is caught.

I guess I’d say the quote you see at the very start of the game Tales of Phantasia.

“Truly, if there is evil in this world, it lies within the heart of mankind.”

What’s Tales of Phantasia, Like Playstation or something?

It was an SNES game that got ported to multiple other consoles and improved upon, probably because of how good of a game it is.

For song lyrics that could have been…

“Going to the Jack-o-Lantern, Gonna get Married”

“We’ve got a thing, that’s called Red Eyed Love”

There’s more but I can’t think of them right now.

“No man chooses evil, because it is evil; he only mistakes it for happiness, the good he seeks.”

I used to watch that intro every morning before school (I think 8th grade) and it seemed strangely to help get me through the day with grace.

Actually I just watched it last night and it really hurts to think back to that time (wanting to get back to it).
