Facebook is a double edged sword

I really don’t like how I use Facebook. Mindless scrolling through the news feed only to have a internal dialog comment but it never gets posted. All positive of course. It came to me today that I need to give Facebook a break as well as other things. I need to hang around more supportive people. After today I realized “the last of the last” is not really on the same page as me. I want to be a good role model. I’m twenty two and …I can’t complain but I can do better. I’ll try to do better😃 they won today but not tomorrow.

Yeah I use Facebook just for the news feed on the side. And to connect me with tinder (which doesn’t work btw)

I like Facebook. It’s helpful. I just think me personally ,that I should give it a break. But I do love social media in a way.

I should delete my FB too. Triggering some stuff for me sometimes.
whatever, I will use it less and keep it professional.

There’s no ‘snark’ on this site, so you never go to bed feeling bad about what you posted. That’s what I like about this place. If you always keep it positive and lighthearted, you’ll usually have a good night’s rest…your conscience won’t get to you and start chipping away at your character.

I’m glad I deleted my Facebook. It was a huge time waster for me. Although I guess it was bad though since I used to think the government was monitoring me over it and thought I was a terrorist. I don’t use social media now just cause I don’t feel like it. Like I really don’t care what people are doing and stuff. I guess it would’ve helped me keep in touch with my friends more though.

Glad you’ve decided to hang around, @MaxB

You’re a welcome addition to this site. Still a teenager, but wise beyond your years.

Perhaps this affliction does that to us…makes us grow up quicker than we’d like. I also find @Nomad and @turningthepage to be mature for their ages.

Thanks! I kinda guess that my sza made me a bit more humbled. It really changed my ways of thinking about other people in general. Probably helped find out who my true friends are too.

‘humbled you’…

Well said.

At the Hospital their were anorexic women and men who never had a chance. When I started to snap out of my psychosis, I felt sheepish for being there…with my pie-in-the-sky theory that I was some kind of notable figure. I believe this affliction has made me a better person in some ways. I’m more thoughtful of others than I used to be, and try to use my strengths for goodness now.

I wish I was a mature…a MATURED flower

No you don’t…

A mature flower will wilt and lose it’s petals. You’re still a young gun with your whole life ahead of you.

Give me some of your wisdom

Hmmm…

Some wisdom? Okay…

Don’t wait around for someone else to land on your doorstep to make all of your dreams come true. Carve out your own path in this life. Make it happen on your own terms.

And above all, believe in yourself.

Thanks @Patrick … Although my sister would disagree… we still make the same lame fart jokes we did five years ago

I wasn’t always mature for my age if I indeeeed am…when I was 18 I was ridiculed so much for immaturity…I was never some “punk kid” but I had the mental age of a 14 year old that I strove for maturity. Got myself into trouble with it. And in turn I may have attained some wisdom and enlightenment on the ride.
