I have had a few arguments and spirited debates with a friend of mine over this topic. He is a brain chemistry is everything type of thinker, where as I tend to believe that the chemistry is the messenger, not the message. That is, it is our psychological state that creates the chemistry

It reminds me of a book that I read years ago, The Essential Jung

Dying is good, life is good, and everything in between is good as well. I don’t really have existential problems anymore.
