Has anyone here had a particular councelor for a long time? In a week or so I will have to say goodbye to a woman I’ve been a client of for at least 6 yrs on and off. A little emotional, she is retiring…

um, yeah, my last pdoc I saw at least once a month for 18 years, then my med insurance was cancelled suddenly, and I never got tell her goodbye.
I’ve been seeing my current therapist for over a year, which is the longest I’ve ever seen anyone for before. I’m probably going to have to end it when I graduate as I won’t have anywhere to stay in the area during my appointments anymore.
I’ve seen my counselor for over a decade now.

I don’t get to see anyone for very long. Because I get treatment through the state government, doctors and nurses and therapists are all the time leaving to go to other places where they can make more money. It’s terrible that there’s no continuity there.
6 years is a long time. I hope she was helpful in improving your condition.
