So Ive had some horrible mood swings. I’ve read a lot about negative and positive symptoms but I never hear about really intense emotions. Does that go with schizophrenia? Or is this something else? My paranoia plays into; feeling like i’m being attacked during an argument but i dont understand how emotions can hit me so hard to the point where I have compulsions to pace, or hide, or shake back and forth. Anyone else struggle with this?
How long do your mood swings last? It is possible you have a mood disorder along with your schizophrenia. A lot of us do. Or maybe you’re just going through a very stressful time in your life. Either way, it is a good idea to ask your doctor about it.

Are you on an anti psychotic? Anti psychotics are mood stabilizers.

I have ptsd and schizophrenia. I’m also on Clozaril, effexor, and prazosin. Its hard to see my symptoms clearly.
I have some pretty strong mood swings, but my ap’s seem to handle it.
