Duplicate articles in news forum

Is there any way of ensuring that an article posted in the new section is not a duplicate of one already posted?

@everhopeful posted an article on nitrates and suicide 2hours ago. I posted the same article an hour ago. I would have thought the system would have picked up and said my post was a duplicate , but it didn’t.

I can understand it happening more with the same basic info but different thread titles .

No, the system can’t pick up on different people posting the same thing. It does protect against the same person posting duplicate posts.

I wouldn’t worry about it. But In fact the system used to block duplicate thread titles but it doesn’t anymore. So there’s no way of knowing.
