So I take a nap in the after noon. It help ward off bad thoughts…so you think I should be committed and I don’t even own a TV. Personly people should be put in jail for watch some of the ■■■■ on it anyway! And then to rehab.
i dont think you are lazy…
Naps save lives.
Surprised more folks aren’t in jail when it comes to watching entertainment violence. I know a lot of folks at this site share the opinion that just because you watch violence does not mean you will become violent. Reports claim scientists study what happens to the brain when folks watch entertainment violence. On one hand, in order to facilitate social justice, folks have to witness violence in photojournalism and film. On the other, the culture of violence out there sucks. So does bad storytelling.
Columbia scientists show that a brain network responsible for suppressing behaviors like inappropriate or unwarranted aggression (including the right lateral orbitofrontal cortex, or right ltOFC, and the amygdala) became less active after study subjects watched several short clips from popular movies depicting acts of violence. These changes could render people less able to control their own aggressive behavior.
Being called lazy is the worst. My parents used to call me lazy all the time, back when my anxiety was so severe I couldn’t get out of bed because the thought of doing ANYTHING put me over the edge. Eventually they realized that when I said I needed alone time I wasn’t being lazy, it was because I NEEDED to destress. (Basically it got to the point where they’d push me too far and I’d have meltdowns)
My younger siblings don’t understand and still tease me about being lazy though, and it hurts sometimes. Ah well. I don’t hold it against them.
Oh also, if you live in the USA it’s actualy incredibly anti-nap here. It’s a flipping awful cultural thing. Americans try to live like machines, wanting to be productive 24/7 while meanwhile other countries get a few hours where shops close where people can just chill and rest, some schools allow for multiple hour long lunches for kids for that reason, etc. It’s a way healthier way to live. People were meant to power through the day CONSTANTLY doing something. Again, it’s why the mental illness rates here keep going up and up.
They like that one don’t they. Lazy, they throw that one around alot.
Usually they way they use it it doesn’t even make sense and most of the time it’s hypocritical.
On the weekends, I take 2 hour naps…it`s great!
