I quit cold turkey in 2007. Haven’t smoked since then.
I quit by continually quitting cold turkey. The point is to keep trying and don’t give up. I first quit for two months then started smoking again but the amount dropped considerably. I thought it won’t hurt to just smoke one then I was smoking two cigarettes a day for a month then I quit again for another month but went back to smoking two or three cigarettes a day for a two months and then I finally quit for good now it’s been three years.
Something that helped me quit was I was smoking captian black royal that I really liked but then after that was gone all I had was original and cherry but I didn’t really like original or cherry so I didn’t smoke it and quit.
I quit for a year once by cold turkey. Some people are stronger than others. I’m not that strong, but I’m willing to improve. Vaping isn’t the cheapest or healthiest thing to do. It still smells and is a time waster.
I started smoking again due to stress and anxiety. I love smoking. I enjoy it. But I noticed it’s a time sink. I ponder too much while smoking. I waste time. I believe smoking robs me of precious time and worsens negative symptoms.
I need to feel a void. Walking and exercising is a good replacement.
I think we need to learn to be stronger and have better will power. Quitting cold turkey is the only way I’ve quit things in the past.
One thing I need to do is stop watching the news so much. Another thing is to eat healthier and have a relationship.

I also quit smoking cold turkey successfully. It was hard for a couple of weeks, then it was easy. And I have never smoked again in ten years. No temptations or desires even when I am stressed out. I think the 4 percent number must be low. I do not think it could possibly be that difficult.
I quit last February cold turkey. We shall see if I make it the whole year. Probably so.
I was a snuff (skoal, copenhagen, etc) tobacco user, I switched to nicotine lozenges to try to quit, helped a little but still not enough still had strong cravings. So I switched to unflavored nicotine liquid mix it with peppermint oil & put the liquid in a mouth spray spritzer (mister) have been on that for a while I plan to give that up too.
