Yesterday @flameoftherhine really gave me some good insight I will always treasure.
I’m still gonna take it easy somewhat but I realized sz.com could be like training for social work, while getting therapy and fun at the same time!
“Take all the good you can get”…I’ve gotten more insight from this board than I’ve got from social workers, and I think I’d make a damn good social worker in the first place considering I get along with everybody and whatnot.
But to make sure it all feels right, I’m gonna start off small and speak for NAMI. My mom gets emails from NAMI and I’m really good at speaking, so I figure if give this new opportunity a try. So yeah I’m gonna rsvp and speak for NAMI. Btw can you believe rsvp autocorrects to taco?

I hope to one day be a therapist for an alternative incarceration Iop group…when I was 21 I did one of those…I was like the only white person in the room but everyone respected me. We did mental health and substance abuse treatment and it was really beneficial. We were like a family. I learned a lot. That’s my dream job.
One time in the alternative incarceration group there was this kid there who said he’d rather just go to jail and serve his time than go through the program cuz he couldn’t stop smoking weed…so we went around the room listing why we’d rather go through with the program than go to jail…everyone was African American besides me…one guy said “in jail you can smoke weed but you use toilet paper instead of blunts!” One guy said its unsanitary…woman said there’s fighting…then the therapist asks me…the skinny little white boy “why would YOU not wanna go to jail” and I say “the food…I hear the food sucks in jail!” And everyone started cracking up laughing. They would always put me on the spot and I would always say the right thing even tho I was very much facing psychosis at this point in life.
