When I’m socializing I forget about my symptoms. I’m too busy socializing to take notice. Does this happen for anyone else?

Socializing used to trigger my sza symptoms. That’s why I became such a loner all my life. Socializing no longer triggers me. But, now, I’m a loner by habit. Socializing used to trigger my son too. And he also was a loner. He had paranoid sz.

If I am fully engaged in the conversation then yes I temporarily forget. Not necessarily always but at least some of the time

Yes if it is with one or a small group of schizophrenics but I had my worst symptoms when among normies in the town center or on the bus…

Yes, usually when I’m with friends I don’t hear them. Yet if I’m checking my phone and see something unusual I listen to them when I’m with friends (mostly if it’s an email or text)

I guess I voted twice by mistake  sorry.

I think that symptoms do improve by being social. But it depends on what your symptoms are. If you suffer from mood changes. Then you better give yourself a rest. But if your mood is stable but you can quickly get delusions, your environment can ensure that you stay in reality. It depends on the symptoms.

It seems to make mine worse.

Never liked socializing since I got sober. Nothing really to talk about. My stories always began with “This one time when I was high…”

I find that it helps with my negative symptoms. But sometimes it triggers positives…

I put yes because it distracts me.

I like to socialize, but it seems to make me twitch now. I’ve had a therapist tell me it’s social anxiety.

Socialising usually makes my symptoms worse, but it can distract me too, so i say maybe.

I don’t get what you mean. Please explain.
