My marijuana induced psychosis was like a bad PCP trip. That was 8 years ago. So ya, that crap is bad for some people.

Id really like to know what goes on in the brain. From healthy to psychotic with marijuana. The scientific community still (??) has no idea about the neuronal changes happening from marijuana exposure.

Knowing would be good because knowing might mean reversing.

Some guy on this site was saying that marijuana causes a temporary loss of about ten IQ points. You lose some intelligence when you smoke weed, but you gain it back if you abstain for a while. Personally, I never liked the way marijuana made me feel. It wasn’t a good high for me. I have no trouble turning it down these days. I smoke quite a bit of it in high school, over forty years ago, but that was just to be sociable. I never have enjoyed marijuana.

I know that if you smoke it while your brain is still developing (i.e. Until you’re around 25) it can cause long lasting changes/stunt development etc and cause problems. I never heard about it causing issues in full adults though, but I’ve also never read any long term studies of it.

There’s a Dr. Amen who takes these special MRIs of a person’s brain called SPECT scans, which apparently can show drug-related damage. Marijuana seems to cause the most damage, as seen on the top-right brain scan.
