For me, the trials I’ve been through have made me stronger, but have also taken parts of me that I’ll never get back. It’s like scar tissue over wounds. I’m tougher, but the scars cover where something was lost.

time heals and in a lot of cases it does, give yourself 10 years to get well

You’re right, @san_pedro. I didn’t know I could recover from my abusive marriage and nightmare divorce, but I’m remarried now to a wonderful person. It took longer than ten years, and there’s permanent scars, but the healing has been enough to move on and have a better life.
