Does cobenfy stop sugar cravings and stop diabetes

I have had suicidal ideation on Caplyta and not medicated. I don’t have that with Geodon or Cobenfy.

Gave me terrible heartburn and terrible constipation.

I’ve read in several testimonials that these side effects are common. Couldn’t you tolerate it anymore? Are you not taking it anymore?

I couldnt take it. The dyspepsis was terrible and the medication to calm it down is bad for your bones literally.

I was starting clozaril as well and the constipation caused by both didnt work for me either

I stopped but i did take it for a month with no change in my symptoms

My pdoc said Cobenfy is used to treat schizophrenia but it’s not technically an antipsychotic

@WhiteRaven So, even though you’ve been on Cobenfy for a few months, you still have avolition :frowning:
I was hoping that Cobenfy would solve this problem as well (avolition)

Yes…the Cobenfy doesn’t seem to affect the negatives very much. It’s helpful for the positives, tho.

Pharmaeceuticals always work better in the marketing materials than in real life.

I lost 20 lbs on Cobenfy because it was making me throw up, multiple times per week. I was taking 8 mg of Zofran (antinausea med) and high doses of ginger capsules (recommended by doctor, to prevent vomiting), but still kept throwing up after taking the Cobenfy. I took Cobenfy, Zofran, and ginger twice per day. Some days I’d be fine, other days I’d be violently ill. It sucked.

I just switched to Clozaril. Cobenfy worked really well for my positive symptoms, though. I would have stayed on it if it had’t made me so sick.

Did you notice any improvement in your negative symptoms with Cobenfy? You could ask your doctor if you can add more trospium. It also helps reduce nausea.

No improvement in negatives. I actually did try additional trospium! It had zero effect, unfortunately.

Yeah, of course. You see, lately I’ve been reading about new and good treatments for other diseases and I wish there were good drugs for schizophrenia too.
On the other hand, Cobenfy is so expensive that I actually expected it to be effective.

@WhiteRaven
Thank you for your answer. I read with great interest about your real experience with Cobenfy. I think that real experience with Cobenfy is important for sick people all over the world and I would like to read more about this topic.

How long did you have food before and after taking cobenfy?

I waited 2 to 3 hours after eating dinner before taking my bedtime dose, then went to bed. No snacks. And I went at least 14 hours before taking my morning dose, as I hadn’t eaten anything since dinner, the pervious day. I followed all guidelines, I was just unlucky.

ETA: I also waited at least a couple of hours after my morning dose before eating anything. No coffee, either, until at least a couple of hours after. I tried be very careful. Still vomited half the time.

That’s how I feel about Vraylar. One member made such a big deal about it being THE THING THAT WOULD END ALL NEGATIVE SYMPTOMS that it’s a massive freaking letdown that I’m not even sure if the med made a difference with my negs. If there’s a change it’s so small I can’t really tell. A med that costs close to $2K/mth should pack more punch IMO and that was even at a higher dose.

Oh, I didn’t even know Vraylar existed. Thanks for writing about it, I’ll read more.
I’m really, really sorry that the new drugs don’t solve the negative symptoms.
Did you pay for your treatment in full? Did your insurance not cover your treatment at all?
On the other hand, I heard today that AI is developing a psychological assistance technology. I think that will help us a lot, I expect it won’t be expensive. In addition, if they have a very large database, they will be able to develop new approaches for schizophrenia, for personality disorders and for all brain-related diseases.
You know, I heard on a podcast by a researcher that all brain diseases are from the same family, they all affect mainly the same part of the brain, they are not fundamentally different.
I’ve been talking a lot, sorry if I’m boring.
