I was told that Alzheimer’s is caused by a new kind of diabetes in the brain so loads of exercise and veggies could prevent that. The reason my father got Lewis body dementia I believe was caused by his alcoholism in a time span of 50 years.
I believe that loads of the atypical antipsychotics are prone to cause diabetes and as a result of that dementia because of weight gain.

Well, since most anti psychotic medications work by causing antagonistic action of dopamine thereby reducing dopamine levels in the brain. Since Dementia is a condition which is associated with deficiency of dopamine levels in the brain. So yes Anti psychotic medication used in schizophrenia can lead to cognitive decline which may or may not culminate into Dementia but yes risk shall remain.

AP’s don’t necessarily cause dementia but they can ignite dementia like symptoms like memory loss and confusion etc…
I know for the people who have Alzheimer aps is not good. I read it’s life threatening as well.
