Does anyone know when Iclepertin and RL-007 might come out?

If they are effective and get approved by the FDA, when are they likely to come out? 3-4 years or 10?

In case you don’t know they are drugs for cognition that look very promising. I just don’t want to be in my 50s when they finally come out.

A.i. says the stuff below, and it seems to be the case that they might never come out.

Both Iclepertin and RL-007 are currently in the clinical trial phases, which means their exact release dates are not yet confirmed.

Iclepertin is being developed by Boehringer Ingelheim and has shown promising results in Phase I and II trials for treating cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia (CIAS)³.

RL-007, developed by atai Life Sciences, has also shown positive results in Phase IIa trials for CIAS¹². The company is working on accelerating its clinical development timeline².

While these drugs are progressing well, their availability will depend on the outcomes of ongoing and future trials, as well as regulatory approvals. Are you interested in these treatments for a specific reason?

You sound like me. I also don’t want to be 50 by the time (insert drug) comes out. Specifically I want an antipsychotic that doesn’t have the side effects that I currently have.
I don’t know when the Iclepertin medication with come out but I am on the trial and tbh I don’t actually notice much difference. So I’m assuming that I have to be on it much longer, or perhaps it doesn’t work the same for everyone. A little bummed to find that it’s not doing what I thought it would so far.

I’m entering the continuation portion of the iclepertin trial in about a month. And like @Orchid said I’m not feeling a significant difference but I think my scores are going up on the cognitive tests. Could also be that I’m on the placebo. And like @everhopeful said it’s completely possible neither of the meds pass phase 3.

If you’re looking for some hope though there’s a drug called evenamide thats about to enter phase 3. I’ve talked to a person on it and from what they describe the difference is night and day. They feel good again. They’re living again. There symptoms are gone. I did see a comment on Reddit about someone who’s taking RL-007 and from what I read it seemed to be a game changer as well. I think he said he’s never been more productive in his life. Sounds good but I would rather have my quality of life back then be super productive but fundamentally still feel like ■■■■. I think with both RL-007 and iclepertin they seem to work very well for some people and then not so much for others. I think with evenamide after a year of treatment 50% of patients qualified as “responders”.

Thats such good news to hear that about other medications. Also interested to hear what your thoughts are in a few months once you know you are on the med.

I’ll definitely let you know!

Without deep research: The RL-007 looks like it will be quite a while. A phase 2 is still running. The Iclepertin is farther into trials and has FDA breakthrough designation.

What do you think, when will iclopertine be available?

iclepertin is in an extention phase 3. If this last phase 3, then maybe 2 years for usa.

Are there any similar medications coming out for negative symptoms and when do you think they will be out?

A patient in Japan organizes information. This is his list of some meds in development:

The meds move so slowly, I will not research when they might come out, if ever.
