I’m so disappointed in myself I can’t believe I let my teeth get like this.

It looks scary.

Yes probably plaque.

How often do you brush your teeth? Is it because you haven’t done it enough? Just asking because I brush only once a day.

I think I haven’t brushed well enough and I think because I’ve been eating so much fizzy drinks and sweets and such.

Are your teeth OK?

My teeth are ok I think. I broke a part of one tooth off recently but that was just a fake tooth because I broke it off when I was a kid, fell into a rock head first.

Your dentist will probably say you need to see a dental hygienist.

For plaque?

Oh no. That means money spending. :pensive:

I have the plaque buildup on the inner part of my lower teeth, it feels kind of scaly. I saw the dentist a couple of weeks ago and didn’t have any cavities but he said I also have plaque buildup UNDER my gums. I have to do a deep clean which will take 2 appointments and requires numbing…I could have prevented it with regular brushing and flossing but I got lazy last year and went a long time without brushing or flossing…so, yeah, teeth are okay but gums are shite.

Omg that sounds a little bad. I hope they can fix that well.

Yea I got a bit lazy with good brushing.

Not anymore.

Also my toothpaste doesn’t have fluoride in it.

Maybe not such a good idea.

Ive always had three little ridges or bumps on my two front teeth bottom and top. I used to not like it but now I don’t mind. They chew just fine.

I think it’s normal especially as you get older for scale to build up on the lower front teeth between visits to the dentist. It’s where all your saliva pools I guess. I had to have a deep clean last visit because with lock down I had not been for a while.

My ex has horrible teeth. He has basically refused to go to the dentist for 10+ years because he didn’t want bad news. Well honey the news just only gets worse the longer you wait. You aren’t going to wake up one day and some magical fairy is going to come fix your teeth. It’s gross.

So finally his doctor talks him into going and really the problems are not that bad all things considered. Some cavities, of course plaque, but he apparently has tartar. I guess that’s what happens to plaque that goes too long. It hardens like a stone. And he had one tooth that was loose that couldn’t be saved and they just decided to let it come out on its own.

Well, it came out the other day and he showed it to me. The tarter build up was advanced. He was upset because the hygienist didn’t get it all off when she did the cleaning. I wanted to say she would need a jackhammer to get that off, but I just listened. What does he expect? He neglected his teeth for a long time and he thinks a hygienist can fix it in one sitting?

Anyway the moral of the story is, get in your mouth at every chance, with a brush, a flosser, a pick and don’t forget the rinses. See your dentist regular and realize that those teeth have to last you through old age.

Yea tartar. I looked that up too and am hoping mine is not tartar although it feels like it might be.

Glad your exs teeth weren’t too bad!
