I use to go to a therapist, for like 10 years strait. Does anybody see a pdoc without seeing a therapist?
Sure, that’s exactly my current scenario… although I’ll be adding therapy very soon.
I only see the psychiatrist rarely, on an as needed basis. My care is left to cheaper employees, a licensed Certified Social Worker and case manager mainly.
I get a call once a week to see how I’m doing. Other than that I see my pdoc every few months
I see two psychiatrists but not a therapist.
I only see a psychiatrist. No therapy.
I just see a psychiatrist. Therapy didnt help, just made me more angry.
I don’t have a therapist, I don’t think bar two sessions I’ve ever had a therapist during my my treatment for psychosis - I did have CBT with a psychologist for Aspergers for maybe half a year when I was 17ish. But that’s about it,
It’s pretty useless if you don’t take people’s help seriously.
I see neither atm.
Haven’t even told my nurse that I’m delusional cos it’s gone now.
So yea u just have an mi nurse.
I am entitled to long term therapy but I really need to get a full time job so that therapy might have to be cancelled
The VA I go to doesn’t have a therapist any more. I haven’t seen one in a while. The last one I saw that took Medicare was a quack. I will wait until the VA gets a new hire.
I just see a psydoc for 15 minutes every 6 weeks. I’ve had bigger sessions in the past and just beyond talk therapy these days. I know it works great for some people but just not for me.
I only see pdoc…no therapist.
who is the one worrying about the costs of seeing a psychiatrist? is that a medicare decision? it seems like medicare would just pay for the cost, whatever it is. i mean, costs should matter, but with our bloated healthcare system, i never knew costs ever did matter much. @anon54988740
Overall my psychiatric care provider gets by with one psychiatrist. That’s why they use therapists. They get the same amount of money I think regardless of who does the psychotherapy. My psychiatric care provider is a charitable not-for-profit, so they just have to break even. They also take tax-deductible donations to stay in business. They also take indigent people with no insurance who can’t pay. I was one of those. I was homeless and uninsured when I started going to my psychiatric care provider. I have disability and Medicare now.
I see a psychiatrist every three months, a social worker every week, a depot injection nurse every two weeks, and a peer support person every two weeks.
Now with Covid , I see them all by phone. Except the depot nurses.
Regularly I only see psychiatrist but I’ve had courses of therapy in the past.
I only see a pdoc for 30 min every 4 weeks. I used to see a psychologist but quit that due to cost and pointlessness:
Saw my psychiatrist recently but stopped seeing my therapist because it seemed she was becoming toxic
I have a F2F appointment with my pdoc next week after the last three appointments were on the phone. Slightly nervous…
Yes I see only a pdoc.
