I’m taking a little bit of it for my neck. My family nurse pactitioner told me it was addictive my registered meds nurse told me it wasn’t. What’s the truth?
I just looked it up. It’s addictive to some people, but not all.
so probably to me with my problems getting addicted to things it would be?
I found these on Wikipedia:
Use is not recommended for more than a few weeks
Agitation is a common side effect observed, especially in the elderly. Some experts[ who? ] believe that cyclobenzaprine should be avoided in elderly patients because it can cause confusion, delirium, and cognitive impairment
These substances may interact with cyclobenzaprine:
- Central nervous system depressants (e.g. alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, nonbenzodiazepines, phenothiazines, carbamates, barbiturates, major tranquilizers)
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors taken within two weeks of cyclobenzaprine may result in serious, life-threatening side effects.
I’ve had Flexeril for years, but I don’t use it too often. It helps with muscle pain, but I make a point of never taking it for more than a few days in a row, just in case
It does help a little when I simply can’t take it anymore, but it makes me really sleepy so I can only take it at night before bedtime when I’m done with everything I need to get done.
I guess it’s possible, yeah. Sorry
