Their saving grace is that they do leave me.
What’s wrong @PinCushion?
I feel the same too, haven’t been to a Dr. since 2014.
Don’t want to go either.
Heaven forbid that you take responsibility for your own problems.
You never found doctors intrusive? @shutterbug and @aliali
Not all of them, just one of them, and I left him, others were helpful to different extents, what symptoms bothers you most these days?
The scars of past wounds. Identifying with two doctors I had trust who were irresponsible.
Oh sure, but they’re just people. The bad ones you move on from. The good ones, the best they can do is give you a foundation to build on. Not their fault if you don’t build anything.
I never had any given a foundation feeling. I felt like they just made me need them and then were not there for me. Like having the rug pulled out from under.
An addition - doctor makes me ill, unable, ugly, old and evil. That pretty well completes my ( and their ) negative attitude.
Doctors are confusing instead of being straight. I left the system and feel so much better.
Here’s a story on how I was misdiagnosed as conversion disorder and fibromyalgia.
I’ve seen 8 doctors. Out of them, only one of them took me seriously.
They demoralized me and my family and told me I was too young to have this ■■■■.
3 years later, I was told I have an incurable genetic illness that will make me feel worse.
I asked my doctor, “So why did others not refer me to a geneticist?”
He said to me, “Well, it’s because they didn’t take you seriously.”
Doctors, unfortunately, are very uneducated in some aspects. I know some are, but they have some tendencies to not trust people.
Doctors are just good for medication and disability insurance money. I had to shop around till I found someone suitable.
