I’m not a very young person so I actually own a cd collection.
Recently I made a discovery that I found live official recordings to be much more satisfying to listen to than studio albums. Probably because it is more atmospheric and the sound is more organic. I have now sorted my cd collection and made a shelf for live recordings so what I regard as “the good stuff” is easy to get to. That’s not to say that there aren’t studio recordings I appreciate, but for the most part I like live recordings better.
It depends. Some artists are performers and some are recording artists. If they sound good live I like live but not every artist sounds good live. There is a little magic in the studio.
I organise my music on my computer. When I sort by artist I put the artists studio albums first, in chronological order. I follow it by their live albums
I prefer live music but I don’t tend to like live albums. I prefer studio albums. Mainly because I don’t like hearing back ground audience noise like whooping, hollering, talking and clapping on albums.
Studio is what i generally listen too. Live is what I experience when I see live music and bands.
It’s still an imperfect world. I do like some live recordings and rate those above studio. Just time and place…I’d still rather see live music though in the flesh.
