I live with my dog in subsidized housing. I’ve been cleaning like crazy cuz my annual inspection is this Wednesday. I don’t think that they’ll have any issues with my place.
Im sending in my application for subsidized housing tomorrow. I can wait two years for a place
I live with a spouse in a home paying rent.
I think living with / having any relationship of any kind comes with challenges for me.
Yeah. I only lived with my one girlfriend for a couple months. It was tough but i loved her. She left me to go to florida. Just packed up and left while i was at work
They say the wait time is two years but my Mom and I got an offer after 4 months or so
I live with my mom and my grandparents.
I live alone in a duplex complex under HUD. I hang out at my moms most the time.
Alone, for about 2 decades, but getting tired of it.
Being alone is rough. Im kinda thankful for having my parents. They are very chill. But i just miss doing my own thing.
I live alone with the UltraRabbit in a subsidized apartment. They gave me a voucher and I found the apartment. I love it. Much better than the war zone I used to live in.

I love my one bedroom apartment ![]()
It’s perfect for me, I like alone time
I live alone in a very small apartment. But it’s enough for me.
I have supportive parents too. I feel very lucky bc of that.
I do worry about what I will do when they are gone. I need to start being more independent and also expand my social circle ![]()
I’ve lived on my own since my wife died in 2005. I was not doing well between 2005-2017 when I was living in Essex. However in the UK you get more help if you’re at 100% level 85% of the time and 20% the rest of the time than if you’re constantly at 35%.If you’re in the latter group much depends on having someone advocating for you.
Best thing I did was move here in Sep 2017.My (s) daughter had done a great job arranging things, including putting mental health services in the picture .It helped that I downsized from a 2 to one bedroom flat. Less room to spread junk!!
Without the support I’d struggle.Physically things haven’t been brilliant. First there was lower back pain which meant I couldn’t stand for very long or walk very far.My gait and posture which have never been good anyway worsened. That lead to swollen feet etc due to being even more sedentary than usual.
Then there were the falls, and the poor response, being told the pain, that was much later shown to be due to a broken femur/hip, was psychological. Then they wonder why we tend to die at a significantly younger age. I’m sure I’m not the only one here that’s had suboptimal tx re their physical health.
I am slowing improving walking wise. Can now walk without the frame, but look even more like Herman Munster than I used to doing it.
If I’d had the falls in Essex it would’ve been disastrous. For me living alone with support nearby, if needed, is the best option.
Yikes. Health problems are never good. I hope that walking gets easier for you
I live with my wife in our own home.
I live with my mom but she is not healthy really she lives with me its my house we moved in together when i got real sick now i have no choice if i was alone i would be dead she got me into the psych program i am in and keeps me from committing suicide.
No and yes. I live with other guys at a group home but have my own room.
I have lived alone in an apartment since December 2008, thirteen years now. I’m probably going to move in with my new boyfriend eventually if things work out.
I don’t like or recommend living alone.
