It’s an abomination and shouldn’t be allowed to be called candy.
However, my grandma loved that stuff.
She always wanted double salt licorice taffy.

I like it but my mom goes nuts for it…she still tells the story when she was a little girl and the stores had licorice on a spool and you could cut off like ten feet for a penny.

Sure. When I was about 6 or 7 my family lived by a drugstore. At the counter they had a jar of red licorice and black licorice. They cost two cents apiece and my mom and dad always bought us a couple pieces every time we went there. I liked both flavors equally and couldn’t imagine why anyone would not like black licorice.
