I never understood that game.

I know how to play, but I’m not very good at it. Requires a lot of mental capacity.

I find chess extremely boring so ill rarely play but out if the last 3 games i played against someone in real life i won 2.

My dad taught me when I was six. We played hundreds of games. He wasn’t the type of parent to let me win so when I occasionally won, it was a big deal. I was pretty good, I usually won when I played other people my age, in fact I won first place in a chess tournament between several schools when I was about 7 or 8. I beat all my cousins and friends. My chess skills were the first thing to go when I got sick at age 19. In my first psyche ward I used to play one of the nurses. I remember we were playing and I couldn’t play anymore in the middle of a game. I think it was literally the first time I ever quit in the middle of a chess game.

I know the basics. I don’t know it well. I can play a game against my dad, but he also only knows the basics.

I used to be good in chess when I was a kid but haven’t played since then.

When I was a small kid, I used to be into chess. I won several tournaments and was 4th in the national championships (-12 y.o.). I quit when I was 13. Was fed up with it and haven’t looked back.

I play against a computer (Chess LV 100). I don’t like to play against people (no human-on-human action).

I understand the following: openings (Ruy Lopez, Berlin, Grunfeld, etc.), grabbing space in the center, developing pieces, castling, Fianchetto bishops, putting bishops on long diagonals, re-meneuver knights, outposts for knights, pinning pieces, forking, en passant capturing, passed pawns must be pushed, putting queen in center of board, putting rook behind passed pawn, promoting, tempo, discovery, counterplay, using the king in the end game, etc.

That said, I suck at chess.
