Because it’s a little more trouble to teach us how to do something. So we get learned helplessness.

I watch the person doing it and then do it myself the next time. Rarely fail.

I am not quick of eye and am slow witted. It requires a little patience and a desire to help. Some people like me to be kept in my place - as a dependent.
