Do you ever worry about the future economic state of where you live?

Maybe.

I was also a staunch libertarian but consider myself a left-wing liberal now.

Even though I’m poor, I have a problem with the concept “I make 100 bucks” and so you can take “50 bucks of my money”. I guess I was raised differently. Whether it’s the government taking the money or the guy with less, I think it will cause problems especially with conservatives here in America. Can’t speak for other countries.

You mean you have a problem with taxes? Or just with using taxes to keep people alive?

There are solid reasons behind the concept of redistribution of resources.

For one, who decides who owns what, and on the basis of what? Society agrees that so and so is someone’s property, but in nature, anyone who finds space makes it his own. Why should I accept this social contract?

I don’t mean that I am opposed to capitalism, I just mean to say that this is what the left-wing liberals would argue.

I live in scandinavia with decent economy.

Who also, generally, are not opposed to capitalism, even in most of the countries that some people in the US consider socialist.

No they are not opposed to capitalism. But, without explicitly saying it, they are also socialistic. In other words, they are social democrats. It depends on how far right-wing or left-wing you are— it is a spectrum, and the extreme left on the spectrum means that you are a socialist.

Yes, that’s what I’m saying. Being opposed to capitalism is extreme and rare even in social-democratic countries. For example here in Scandinavia.

I have a problem with extreme taxes without fairness. I also have a problem with people with entitlement and that produce little and take from others and are not self-sufficient.

I guess I rather have socialism though than a totalitarian government or fascism/communism though. I think most people would too.

Is capitalism failing or something? Maybe it is.
