It’s a really fun thing to do. Maybe buy in for not that much money, a few dollars. Usually the winner takes it all. I think ESPN got everyone addicted to poker. When I bring it up I’m talking about it a sport kind of way. I’ve never paid to play online poker. People get insanely good at it then try to play in Vegas in person. Seems like a good time.
You get 2 cards then you bet then 3 cards are for everyone and it’s called a flop. Then another card for eveyone and there’s betting. Then there’s the 5th card for everyone then there’s betting. It takes a lot of skill to play.
One year an Accountant won the big tournament in Las Vegas because he was really good with numbers.
I’ve played Pokemon and that’s very simple game. Magic requires mana and is different. Though Pokemon does require energy cards. But they are both very different.
Used to play it with my nephew years ago when my ex-brother-in-law hired me to help my nephew after he got out of school. I helped him do homework and chores and then for about like the last two hours I had to entertain him. We played a lot of one-on-one basketball, tossed the football around, went out to McDonalds. And played, black jack and Texas Hold’em. We played black jack a dollar limit, a dollar a hand.
I used to be a fan of texas hold em back when it was big on ESPN, with Chris Moneymaker, Phil Helmuth (he was such a poor sport) and some others I can’t remember. I haven’t played in ages, would love to sometime.
Me and this other guy used to switch between 1st and 2nd in the league each week. I made so much money. Each time I won I got £100, and £50 for second.
It was pretty cool being on the last table every time. I have no idea how I wiped the floor with everybody. It started with about 6 tables down to the final. I used to enjoy it.
Does anyone find online poker fun? I tried it before but it just didn’t feel the same.
No. But I’d like to get together to play dungeons and dragons again after all these years. It’s so hard to get everyone together these days with life. I see everyone regularly but getting everyone together for those random factors to align is hard.
I’ve just booked everyone in for a regular meet up in late July. That is how much notice I need to give these days. Still. I’d play poker if everyone was kosher and money would be involved. Why not!
I have played with friends before, but one of them is insanely good at it because he plays online all the time. I have a poker set in my house just in case we decide to have a drink and want to get the poker set out. I am no good though, I used to practice a bit online but I have not really done that in a long time.
My father and his workers play poker if they are drunk. It ends up badly most of the time. Sometimes they even start to yelling and they also hit each other, but not always fighting. They are polish it’s 360 days in the year just drinking alcohol after work.
