Do colors trigger you?

I have an issue with the color white. I don’t know why? It triggers my anxiety. I can’t stand white clothing or white sheets.

Is this normal?

Do white clouds in the sky bother you?

No! It’s just some things with the color white that bothers me. Especially garments in white.

Sounds like something that might have been caused by some past trauma.

You may want to talk to a licensed therapist about it. They have techniques for dealing with trauma, I believe.

My Dr painted the whole building a greyish blue color I get depressed just looking at the building why paint brick blue?!

Black does at times. When I’m severely psychotic.

None. I love all colors although brown is sort of a dumb color for clothing and such but i have tables and chairs and such that are beautifully brown. I dont like white cars unless theyre specific sports cars perhaps. Houses im sort of choosy about colors. But no color bothers me. All colors have a place and role in thee universe and can be great in most settings.

Colors triggering people isn’t as unusual as it may sound. As humans we have emotional associations with colors, and there is a section in psychology that focuses on color psychology. Media and advertisers understand it very well, and that is why ads will have a certain color scheme, as well as movies and shows. The color palette of a scene can intensely sway our emotions to connect with what the director wants to convey.

I thought its red, as for ted talk the floor circle is red, for her it was changed let me check this video again

It’s alright to dislike a colour. It is not “normal” to get “triggered” by it, especially if you yourself can’t describe the reason. Personally, colour red or black may trigger me, but only in context when they are associated with harmful political ideologies, so that is somewhat understandable.

I am hesitant to recommend to think about it more, usually thinking too much is harmful to a schizophreniac. However you may find in your past a negative association with the colour. This may help you identify and avoid more critical triggers, potentially.

To avoid triggers may be the most important step to recovery.

There is a difference between colour associations and psychotic “triggers”.

Cool beans, but I never said they were the same.
