I have this as an option for September

No idea if I will go through with it or not.

I am applying and will have to make that decision.

I think I could be effective in the community, and especially with people who have substance abuse problems

I certainly couldn’t. You realise you have to go to nurse school for years for a start!

Well, maybe. There were a couple of fine nurses in the hospital but every other 21 year old guy there wanted them too. The competition was fierce.

Naw. Not my thing. If I wasn’t sick I would look into medical school. But its overrated.

I can’t make any kind of nurse anymore. The job is too stressful for me.

I know a lot of stuff about sz but I think most of the time I would be dealing with people with anxiety and depression. I don’t think I could really relate much to those subjects and I am not too confident on my interpersonal skills in helping people overcome their difficulties. I would imagine it would be a type of job that would stress me out too.

Psychiatry seems to involve a lot of statistics and analysis.

Without SZ yes, but I prefer medicine maybe psychiatrist or work with my current degree in physiotherapy. I like having my own clinic.

I don’t think so. Psychiatry is interesting but I’m not a people person and seeing others psychosis would be a trigger for mine.

I’d have to be at peace more myself, it would also make my delusions worse if I was around someone with a similar problem.

I’ve a friend who was a psych nurse for a long time. He’s out of the game now and gladly. It is a very stressful and dangerous occupation. You have to be able to deal with the occasional violent person as well as other things that aren’t so cool. Honestly. General nursing is so much less stressful.
