I go to work today just like and other day, I do my tasks, I’m friendly, I make people laugh And I make myself laugh and do my job. I was dead on my feet from lack of sleep and fatigue but I half-faked my way through the day (you got to keep up appearances). 2:30 pm rolls around ridiculously quickly and I go to punch out on the time clock and I see a post-it on the time clock that says “Tuesday, mandatory meeting for everybody at the office off-site”.
It was the first I heard of it and my first reaction is “Aw Sh*t, I hate those meetings and I have plans tomorrow because it’s my usual day off and I don’t want to go to that meeting tomorrow.”
I asked my supervisor about it, she said “Yep, it’s mandatory”. I was immediately bummed out. Then it hit me, lol. I realized my mistake; Today is FRIDAY, not MONDAY. Tomorrow is the weekend!!
I told my supervisor the mistake and she smiled a little. Wow, a much needed reprieve from that meeting and two days to rest and take care of some pressing business I have been putting off and hopefully do something fun in the bargain!
