Wait, there are products to make hair more curly??

Yeah. In America at least, most hair care aisles are divided in half. On the one side is stuff for straight hair and on the other side is stuff labelled as being for natural hair. I had no idea there was a difference until we became foster parents and had to stock up on hair care products for black hair. We always thought our hair was frizzy and unmanageable, but no. Turns out it was just curly and, being raised in white culture, we never knew you had to manage curly hair differently than straight hair.

These are the products we use
Shampoo and conditioner
When the hair is still wet we put this in it and then let it dry

The miele curling custard is good too. I have used Cantu before but it didn’t work well for me.

My hair curls like nuts when it gets long enough. It’s too unmanageable so for the last several years I have been keeping it short and even down to the skin.

I was always envious of curly hair when I was young. It’s lovely af imo. I’ve always had straight, thin hair, which won’t hold a curl to save my life.
When I got older, I realized how fortunate I was. Sure I can’t style mine at all without it looking like it did before in ten minutes time, but it’s really easy to care for. Still tho, I think curly hair looks better.

When I met my ex husband he had the cutest tight curls. I used to play with them and swirl my fingers all around un them. They were awesome. But they fell out. Now he has wavy hair. I don’t know where the curls went. It’s the darndest thing.

I’ve always had wavy, frizzy hair and have always just hated it. I didn’t start really appreciating it until I was in my late 40’s and that’s when it started falling out.
My hair, and all my siblings hair too, transforms over time. Some years my hair is very curly, other years it is wavy, and other years, it is straighter. Maybe your ex husband’s is the same way?
