Here it works differently.
I just see a pdoc. There is no other support.
In 2015 they discharged me to primary care
Three months later I was back with them
Turns out back then at least you have to be referred again just to alter meds and doses
The GP fobbed me off to the point I went inpatient again
Took a further two hospitalisations for me to trust them once more
Really hit me as they’re like yea life time illness temporary treatment
I find the UKs services very confusing
(The council and benefits systems even more)
Nog going into politics but has the NHS/ Social Security policy changed with the new Government? @AppleKidd @Joker @firemonkey
As far as I know, yes
I’m under primary care. I just go to my GP with any problems. I was with the early intervention team and community mental health team for about 9 years.
Does your GP manage medication changes? I want to go to primary care too but worried I’ll have to be referred to a psychiatrist for medicine changes
My GP has to email the pdoc to discuss any medication changes. The doctors can also refer you back to mental health services if needed.
