Dietary habits and genetic susceptibility: correlations between nutritional intake and genetic risks for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder

I’ve no idea what they’re saying. Maybe someone else can figure it out

I tried, but that study made no sense at all to me.

I’m not a doctor and I’m not a medical professional.

They seem to be trying very hard to say that genetics do not absolutely and necessarily predispose people to certain outcomes; and, instead, sometimes those outcomes are meditated by dietary choices. I suspect that the inclusion of Miso soup and Japanese green tea are related to a fascination with the longevity of some Japanese people.

Personally, I think that many turtles live longer than many rabbits, and I think that I’m willing to accept that genetics may be a very strong factor in that.

They did say that sz and bipolar both seem to be correlated with a poor diet high in sugar and low in fruits and vegetables.
