I’ve found not cutting it out completely but cutting every once in a while helps me maintain it. But I still gain weight this way so it doesn’t really help either.
I feel like exercise is the only solution and even then we have to work harder than normal to meet a reasonable weight bc of the APs.
Have you tried alternative sweets foods/snacks like popcorn instead of crisps or dark chocolate instead of normal chocolate and so on
Is it possible to increase the intensity of your workouts/swimming sessions? Could help
Edit. I’m considering asking for one of those weight loss drugs because I feel my weight is affecting my heart’s functioning. That’s also something that could be a last resort
I’m not a dieting professional, but I can totally understand that stopping sugary foods cold turkey would be really challenging.
You could try save a couple of snacks for sunday, after you’ve had a good week of sticking to your diet.
Fast food and such is great in the moment but will have you feeling down/sad and low on energy after because there’s no real nutritional value.
I’m sure you’ll be able to stick to whatever plan you have, best of luck
@Joker i think its the cold weather makes craving for comfort food. You could fill up on veggie soup and chicken roast dinner., leaving less room for treats. Thats what im doing.
Is it the sugar you’re craving, or are you not getting enough healthy fats? When I was in one of my kinesiology classes I had a professor comment about people mistakingly saying they had a sweet tooth because they liked baked goods, but there’s a difference between people with a sweet tooth and people with a “fat tooth” as he put it. But I’m that discussion it’s essentially that your body will crave what it’s missing. So if you’re craving gummy bears or Skittles or what have you, yeah, probably sugar and fruits would be a good substitute. But if you’re craving snack cakes and donuts and potato chips, you probably need a little more fat in your diet. Nuts, seeds, avocado, things like that are really good sources of healthy fats.
Don’t give up, though. Just find what nutrient you’re really craving and find a healthy source.
I feel like it’s normal to gain weight in the winter. It’s nice to have a 6 pack etc but our prehistoric brains want us to pack on a few pounds to ensure we survive the winter. Just evolution in my books. Not saying you shouldn’t try to lose weight etc just saying. Whatever your weight during the summer is we should expect to gain 5-10 during the winter it’s normal. Not saying don’t fight it just explaining that fact
