Here is a study on the surgery. It isn’t just a one-and-done. They place an implant that delivers continual deep brain stimulation. I think there is still a long way to go with this technology before I would consider it viable. I am personally a little concerned that this was considered ready for human trials at this stage in the game. That, combined with the legalization of doctor assisted suicide, has me very concerned for how the medical field sees schizophrenic people.

They already do DBS implants like this for Parkinson’s so it isn’t new.

There was barely a 50% success rate in the study I read. I might be a bit confused on things today, i am going to read up more before saying more.

I already feel there is chip in my brain just imagine implanting the real one, one scary deal.
