Emergency Ready to Eat Meals, i bought me case going to eat one ounce a week to restore my glycogen storage in my muscles. I had them there pretty darn good. there actually made for soldiers for the battle field, really good for energy.
To me is seemed like the mre’s had a funny aftertaste. I prefer the old style C rations we used to get in the army.
I think the idea behind mre’s is to cram the most nutrition into a soldier as possible. They did taste funny to me, though. One time when we went to the field in the army we had nothing but C rations to eat for two weeks. I’m a great believer in protein, but after a while I was just eating the canned fruit and chocolate bars. I didn’t feel bad doing that. It seemed like the protein filled main courses were harder for my stomach to digest. It seemed like the energy needed to digest the meaty courses tired me out. I felt great just eating light like that.
I looked at this link. The MRE are about $60 for 14. That’s about $4 per meal. I like the idea but they are a little bit too expensive.
I eat mres all the time. They’re really good. I like the vegetarian ones the best.
4 dollars per meal aint that bad, thats pretty cheap for a full meal. I always like mres because they give so much energy.
