Did a 100 smallish steps

Did 100 smallish steps without the zimmer frame. In the kitchen with the zimmer nearby just in case. Heavy footed Felt knackered and shaky by the end.

glad to have you back firemonkey! and glad youre doing better

You really should only try that when there’s someone around you. If you fell, that could be quite grim.

Sense of achievement well and truly destroyed.

Yeah I agree with @everhopeful
Only walk on your own when you are not alone.

I didn’t mean it that way @firemonkey . It’s great that you could do it, but it was risky for sure.

Did some walking with (s) daughter and a granddaughter here. They’d just done my shopping. Need to look up in the direction I’m wanting to go, and to not rush. Currently tending to look downwards and rushing a bit.

Will be doing some walking when granddaughters are here to clean the flat. Gt grandson has taken to mimicking the way I walk. Lol.

It sounds like you’re making great progress. I’m glad you’re waiting for someone to be with you to do it, because you could get seriously injured if you fell and then have no one to help you for too long of a time.

I have a lifeline that I wear. That sends an alert to my (s) daughter and granddaughters if anything untoward happens. That doesn’t of course lessen the risk of a serious injury.

Ok. I’m glad you have that.

Did some walking without the frame while youngest granddaughter was here. She went in front of me with the zimmer.End of lounge to bedroom- then to kitchen- very short pause and then walked till I got to the the computer chair in the lounge . I was feeling a bit knackered by then so stopped and sat down.

  • Far* end of lounge.

Step by step. Do you have a program that you have to follow to get back up again?

No programme. There’s been no involvement from the physio since coming out of the physical rehab unit, and only the bare minimum from the OT dept.

It’s been a case of building up the nerve to try walking without the frame.I 'm more of a cautious and hesitant type of person than an adventurous, risk taking, one. I was increasingly feeling that I was letting myself down, and needed to do better.
