Anyone take diazepam
I might be given it
Does it help
My husband took it for about two months after his mother died.
It was very helpful.
Kept him from having a panicky feeling and didn’t sedate him much.
It was a great drug for him,
I hope it works for you.
It’s a benzo. For short term use only. If you use it long term it loses it’s effectiveness and you also become addicted to it.
I use 2.5mg each night. It helps me to sleep. Pdoc said it will not loose its effectiveness and it won’t be so addictive if it’s kept at such a low dosage
It also helped me out of a relapse about 2 years ago. Then I took 2.5mg in the morning and 2.5mg at night
I was the same way with klonopin. Never had an issue with it. I hope he prescribed something for you to feel better.
I have been on it for three years + now.
It helped to start with, but the dose quickly went up to 30mg a day
In the end I think I was only getting it to fire fight me from being hospitalised.
Last year it took nearly 6 months to get down to 10mg, then my body could not cope with less than that.
About a month ago I dropped it myself to 5mg every other day, and I spoke to a pdoc last Friday and he said I was torturing myself.
Apparently you need to be consistent with it if you’re on it long term.
I am now back on 5mg a day, so I managed to halve the dose very quickly, which I am pleased about.
Unfortunately I was told that the last few mg coming off is the worst, so got that to look forward too.
Seriously, make sure you don’t stay on it like I did. It does nothing to help my anxiety now, and I am taking it because my body is dependent on it, and that kinda sucks.
Just want to make you aware of the impact if you let them give it to you long term. It will end up you being on higher doses to get the same effect, and eventually it will stop working altogether.
I found Pregabalin 300mg a day helpful for anxiety more long term.
However I tried to come off that too, and my body could not cope with that at all
