That’s why it took 27 years from when Asperger’s was officially a dx for me to get the diagnosis.

Interesting, never heard about this phenomenon.

I’d heard about it quite some time ago, but had forgotten the phrase that is used. A comment on Twitter jogged my memory.

I have only had a proper diagnosis assessment for any length of time perhaps 3 times in 16 years of being in contact with services

2 times in hospital and once in the community
