Dealing with Failure

Tonight my dinner consisted of a nice greek salad, and some pide with several dips I made. The hummus was great, as was the roasted peppers with feta dip. But I also made a pureed lentil dip for the first time. It tastes okay, but also a bit funny. One bite of bread with it is okay, but it doesn’t make me want more. I made a lot of it. I am quite disappointed with it. There are lots of spices in there and it has grown a bit too complex to tell how it can be improved. This failure does not sit easy with me. Anyone has made a lentil dip before?

I would consider that sort of failure as actually a success.

You know what bodybuilders say? Fail to succeed. If you literally lift until you cannot lift, it was a perfect workout. If you squat until you have to have your spotters take the weight, if you deadlift until you have to drop the bar while your legs are shaking, if you bench until the weight just bombs on you and you cant push it off your chest yourself, you did well.

I hard boiled some eggs and I think I ■■■■■■ them up. Oh well. That’s my breakfast tomorrow.

Is your mind “beating you up” now? Mine did that for decades if I didn’t do things so they would come out “perfectly” (according to my requirements). So now I use this (below) to deal with that (above).

I pretty much live on microwavable sandwiches I get at the Dollar Tree. I’m very much into cheap protein. I also drink a lot of 1% milk I buy at Wal Mart. I also drink vegetable juice and apple juice, and I buy frozen vegetables I heat up in the microwave. Lately I’ve been putting bar b que sauce on them. Tastes good to me.
