DBT Therapy on a budget

Two of my recent therapists practiced some DBT techniques with me and I found them very helpful.

The center I go to also runs group sessions but my insurance wouldn’t cover them so I would be stuck with a $40 copay for each meeting.

It’s cool though that I have found PDF copies of DBT books on eBay such as this :

I really like having the pdf’s on my phone because I can open it on my phone whenever I want to.

I also learn a lot by watching YouTube videos on it. I am not sure if there are apps that might be useful too, like for chain analysis.

Has anyone else tried DBT?

I was emotionally unstable with anger and resentment issues for a long time. Then about 10 years ago I decided to do slow deep breathing for 20 mins per day for 4 months, with all 20 minutes in a single go. My anger completely disappeared during the 4 months and has never come back. The breathing gets a bit uncomfortable after 10 minutes, but I persisted for 20 minutes. Best thing I ever did.
